Google the heckler's veto. Protesting is fine; shutting down a speaker isn't.

The heckler's veto historically has been used to arrest the Speaker for going to a place where the locals don't care for their talk, for disrupting the peace. By your logic it should be the speakers going on to university grounds being arrested, not students expelled.
