At American universities, coaches for men's sports make over $800,000/year on average, across all sports, from football to lacrosse. Most sports don't make net income at most universities, so are tax-subsidized. Professors make an average of $92,000. Does this make sense?
A good article, thanks. NCAA Division I Football might bring in net revenue. But that's only 130 colleges out of 2,600 4-year colleges in the US, most of which spend a lot on sports.
