The problem I've noticed with persistent ideologues is that they place their ideologies as the number 1 priority when times are good. Of course, in doing so, they cause times to turn not so good.
It's incredibly stupid in purely business terms to appear so partisan. Their management is putting their ideologies ahead of their fiduciary duty to shareholders.
