OK, but note that a heavily armed populace also carries a cost. Law enforcement is rightly afraid of the people they serve. That creates violence too. A cop pulling you over rightly fears for his life and acts accordingly.
You do understand that government fearing the people is the whole point of #2A, right? It's the benefit, not the cost.
