Bad idea. When has it ever worked well for a lower tech indigenous population meeting another foreign higher tech population.

“Hey, the Three Body Problem was great, let’s write a paper on the Dark Forest analogy!” In the absence of the dark forest, if anything is valuable it is a planet’s biodiversity. The ability to destroy our own planet with nukes is in that case a significant deterrent.

Funny subject, but I think the conclusions are likely wrong. You are looking in the wrong places for answers about whether aliens will be hostile to us or not. Morality improves and motives towards outgroups become more benign as tech level and resources increases.

With the super-advanced tech that aliens w space-travel will have to possess, Earth has no unique resources they might want - they will be able to manufacture everything from basic elements.

It wasn’t a question about difficulty, but about cost. The cost of oceanic travels is around zero in this regard.

You still don't get it? It's a question of costs. Time does not change the laws of physics.
