The NRA is a member organization of average Americans. It lacks the authority and resources to follow up on reported red flags like the FBI is supposed to do, yet is being blamed for somehow not doing the FBI’s job. Progressive media refuses to question why no follow-up.

In 2016, the NRA gave about $1 million total in campaign contributions -- about 1/3 of a cent per citizen. Teacher's unions gave about $33 million to candidates. By contrast, Procter & Gamble spent $4.6 billion on advertising. The NRA is a very small fish in the influence pond.

That's only if you consider a 1 to 1 relationship between money and influence. The NRA seems to wield far more political influence than teachers. They spend less, but their simple stance on a singular, seminal American issue is very loud.

I think Left-leaning journalists can't understand that a lot of Americans cherish their
#2A rights, so they have to endow the NRA with superhuman powers of terror and influence. The NRA has influence mostly because its citizen sympathizers have the power to vote.11 replies 40 retweets 233 likes -

I agree with that. It's unfortunate to see the message pushed that all gun owners are gun nuts, but I wish the NRA would stop saying things like "the problem is video games." If we can't have a conversation, we risking losing guns or going too far with them.

I’ve never said that and as someone who, before parenthood, was a frequent gamer, I reject it outright.

It's tricky for the NRA to keep up with behavioral sciences on issues like video gaming, since my own field (psychology) has been biased against gaming for over twenty years, resulting in a lot of biased, unreplicable pseudo-research. tl:dr: video games don't make players violent

But, video games along with other underlining issues and/or circumstances can lead to violent actions.
