This deserves a longer chat in another medium. The individual path to any non-standard sexual life is always steeply uphill, given societal stigma, lack of role models, legal issues, profound ignorance (of the sort displayed by many comments here), etc.

I am a huge fan of polyamory conceptually, but I think sexual jealousy is a fundamental human trait that you aren't just going to talk people out of any more than you can convince people to not like gorging on sugar since it is no longer adaptive.
