The point of pronatalism isn't to make babies. The point is to make future adults who can grow civilization, live good lives, and make good lives in turn.

And the point of antinatalism is the suffering cost is too great and we underestimate the badness of all lives and the frequency of very bad lives. Please read Benatar - especially The Human Predicament.

I've read it; I think his arguments are totally circular and illogical. He just assumes all lives have net negative utility, and then concludes that all lives have net negative utility. There's no evidence, just pessimistic bias.

if I have a gun with 10 chambers and the prize for the 9 empty chambers is 1 million dollars, can I force people to play Russian Roulette?

Pro natalists grossly underestimate the risk of unwanted lives and @jordanbpeterson embarrassingly implied good parenting could prevent it.

There is good evidence lots of people wish they'd be never been born. Suicide, drug abuse, alcoholism, antidepressants, etc. But it need not be that many since one isn't harmed if denied an existence they might like.

And in The Human Predicament he explains what has always seemed obvious to me - by being born we ate burdened with decline loss and dying. Every cradle is a grave.@sarahdoingthinghttps://www.amazon.com/Every-Cradle-Grave-Rethinking-Suicide/dp/0989697290 …

No lives have positive utility from the perspective of a non existent person but some have negative utility from the existent. That's the assymetry.

It doesn't presume that. it presumes the risks are to great with no countervailing risk because you can't harm nonexistent people by denying them something they may like

It is an argument in void. It is disconnecting from observations and utility [value] theory.
