IIRC Without light travel it would be impossible to leave the our Galaxy. Things are just too far away & universe is expanding.

Supercluster is 520m light-years across, so there's plenty of time in the next couple of billion years ....

I think its not even possible to travel between galaxies... clusters and superclusters are beyond physical possibilities of travel.

I tend to side with Kurzweil's optimism. 1. He understands technology better than most people & has a great track record of predictions. 2. I like the idea that anything may be possible post-Singularity. So yes to this.
