A more useful metric for gauging influence might be measuring ratio of “Follows” to “Followers.” Often times, one can get a high follower count simply by following lots of people, taking advantage of people’s reciprocity.

Something like 100 follows and 9,000 followers would indicate that the account is not using reciprocity. It implies that the account has value. Another useful metric would be rate at which new follows are added. There are accounts with many follows but not many likes.
