It's OK to be a white-hot reactionary against bad ideas, and a starry-eyed progressive about good ideas.
I'm a libertarian, so I accept when others x/y as long as it doesn't infringe my rights. But maybe I misunderstood your question.

As in, who decides if an idea is good or bad (& therefore which behaviour is acceptable). Do I & then permit *myself* to act accordingly? Or do I judge *others* & whether their behaviour is legitimised by how good I deem the idea they are facing to be?
