That's pretty accurate, actually.

That's the complete opposite of the quote you posted, though. "The left made me right" is different from "I never changed, just the labels did".

I wish I could like this a thousand times, because it speaks so perfectly to my experiences (partially because of this I am that apparently vilified designation: centrist)

The left has become so extreme, it redefined centrists as right-wing. And people who used to be right-wing are now "far-right". Today's leftists see everyone else as far-right.

People that have “ been traumatized by really low-quality, dangerous, Leftist thinking" should just try a library card before donning the Fred Perry and grabbing a tiki torch

How can I be “ejected from the Left”? What does that mean? How can I then find myself “on the Right”? Again what does that actually mean? Why do we all have to identify with a group? Why can’t we think by ourselves?

I think the first step is to stop seeing it as an _it_. And in fact maybe we have an analogy with the libertarian right. To watch Dave Rubin’s show you’d think that the right was full of libertarians, but in fact the smart, principled folks are a relatively small portion.

Defection from left to right is a false choice, though. The battle should be fought on the libertarian/authoritarian axis.

I think that fundamentally the left has shifted leaving it’s base behind
