No. This is obfuscation. The problem with tribalism is loyalty to tribe over truth, logic and reason. Where the opinions of tribal leadership overshadow the best solutions. This article is a waste of the reader's time.

I'm guilty. And I think I'm sold. The author makes a good case that we should stop using the term "tribalism" as a surrogate for truculence and exclusivity (or authoritarianism).

You need to have an educated minimum for politicians - particularly scientific literacy. Then let them get on and vote amongst themselves. Give to much influence to the noisy uneducated creates the tribal effect...
