So from criticizing the thought of our ancestors to criticizing the critic of our ancestors thought. The critic itself is relative, therefore total freedom and cultural evolutionism (survival of the fittest systems of thought). I bet the winner will be a classical canon.

Main difference in the profs working in each field is that classicists view the classics as merely the foundation of a liberal-arts education, and concede the crits can add something of value. Crits are totally close minded; would love to dispense entirely with the classics.
