I'm so conflicted about this. I hate the way Google conducted themselves and the downright lies/misinformation spread on Damore's behalf, but I still think a company should be allowed to hire and fire whoever they want.
As a libertarian, I'm conflicted too. But if the gov't imposes laws on companies prohibiting discrimination based on sex and race, they must be enforced fairly. And if a company's corporate statement welcomes viewpoint diversity, they are contractually obligated to do that.

Twitter's ToS contractually oblige them to kick Trump off the site for threatening violence against people. Invoking your vague pseudo-legal argument, therefore, do you commit to demanding Twitter defend Trump's victims, with the same zeal as you devote to defending Damore?

Completely agree. The impulse to protect business from government meddling is correct, but there will be no impetus for change if the left is protected from living with the consequences of their own bad policies.
