If these citizens can't learn and follow what an expert witness is telling them, then even a basics on gun ownership isn't going to help them. If so, my first concern would be to make sure they pull out of the parking lot before I do.

Almost all 'accidental discharges' are human error (poor trigger control) rather than spontaneous mechanical failure. Poor trigger control means reckless endangerment.
