I don't think he'd disagree with having pride for any of those. The point he's getting at is that individuals who boast their race's achievements probably don't have many achievements of their own to boast, thus race pride may suggest personal emptiness. Or maybe I'm wrong idk

At least with your kids you made and raised them. Your company, at least you contributed. In Danish we have an expression: "decoratingwith borrowed feathers."
