‘Problematic’ means more than ‘Bad’. It also means “I have a bunch of incoherent theory trundling about in my head”.
If 'problematic' and 'inappropriate' just mean 'bad', why not just say 'bad'? Or are these pretentious euphemisms just ways of making moral judgements while pretending that you aren't?

It’s adjectival for ‘Problematize’, loosely translated as “I didn’t read the text closely enough to meaningfully engage with it”, or “help I’m drowning in student loans”.

"Problematic" and "inappropriate" are more specific terms than "bad". They add meaning. They are neither euphemisms nor perfect synonyms. And using any of the three is making a moral judgment.

"Problematic" bothers me in this context when it's used as the final gut judgement rather than as the beginning of an analysis. Its intentional imprecision is also very safe politically: call something "problematic" and you take a public stance of moral concern.
