I think folks tend to drastically overestimate the ability of college and professors to indoctrinate students. For better or worse, students already have a lot of opinions and norms as freshmen.

What people who say they want "less political" colleges really want, IMO, is colleges that appeal and admit such students in the first place.

University of Chicago seems relatively BS-free, but it's otherwise a pretty conventional private university, e.g., it's Common Core has been whittled down to 15 courses, and it's pretty expensive.
