Everyone who spends their life seeking political power, from any party, is likely to have some Dark Triad traits & skeletons in their closet. The question is whether the sociopath supports good policies that benefit millions, or dumb policies that hurt millions.

I think we can recognize that witch hunts may go too far without selling out for those with "right-sounding opinions." There is value in having just, value-driven men and women in office. We cannot predict what all policy issues will come forward.

The world is run by the people who show up. If you want better candidates go out and support them or run yourself.

Still problematic, because it leads to the aforementioned sociopaths. I prefer the Texas legislature model that allows citizen legislators.
