It's interesting that you equate a functional society w infrastructure, healthcare, education, civic services etc as "oppressive". I don't see it that way.
It's interesting that you think the state is the only possible source of goods and services that people might want.

Not the "only possible" but certainly more probable to deliver for greater amount of people than private corporations --I think, anyway, as govt is (supposedly) voter influenced

Even in Denmark private corporations provide ENORMOUSLY more things people need and want than the government.
