Semantics. If you're the one not provided for you would perhaps see it as oppressive. But I suspect your perspective is one of privilege.

Who 'provides' for the 'provided for'? Other people, paying taxes, under coercion of the state. So who is 'oppressed' under that system: those who are coerced, or those who enjoy the benefits of the coercion?
