Smart/conscientious people might have more kids if it was socially acceptable to tell them their kids will be better behaved than average

I was just talking to a friend with kids who has said 1) that’s true, and 2) technology makes it even harder to manage smart kids
But once smart kids learn to read, if they're curious about books, they become largely self-entertaining.

Yeah, I agree. Poses some problems for social adjustment though.

Although, good novels give kids great insight into other people's thoughts and feelings. Supercharges social intelligence, all else equal.
