People have the freedom to be cruel or to be kind. People also have the freedom to advise others when they think their behavior is cruel.

I think certain legal concepts have “deliberate vagueness”. Perhaps “clear and present danger” and “beyond reasonable doubt”?

When we use free speech to argue an unpopular idea, the unpopular idea becomes more tolerated, and free speech gets a little less popular.

As a pediatrician, I have found that convincing parents to vaccinate is not about medical science, but about the science of persuasion. ;)

Generally, I have more success when I emphasize that me and the parents have the same shared goal of keeping their child healthy.

I see it as an example of how persuading people involves more than stating true facts.
