Red states are what you get when people live far enough apart that they don't have to learn how to be consistently polite and respectful.

Take a look at any relatively high-resolution electoral map. There are only a few small blue smudges, and we're still the majority.

Just because you know of an area that's somewhat dense and hasn't swung left yet (give it time), that doesn't break the trend.
