Doctors, nurses & medical researchers should care about people's health. Politicians should only do stuff the constitution says they can do.

Why shouldn't we as a society look after the health of our citizens? The benefits are for all individuals and society. Same for education.
By that logic, why not nationalize housing, restaurants, TV, movie production -- all have society-level benefits. Result: totalitarianism

Incorrect. Some sectors benefit state planning ie transport & utilities. Others like leisure or entertainment etc great for private sector.
