Dave Rubin, who is a colossal tool, isn't far-right, but it's still hilarious that he, an ardent free-speech warrior, threatened libel

Free speech absolutism has nothing to do with the first amendment.

Free speech can be a constitutional principle, a social norm, and/or a personal value. But they tend to be mutually reinforcing.

Yeah, but he made a patently frivolous libel claim in an attempt ti chill speach. That's the hypocrisy.

But characterizing someone's views tends to be protected opinion. Tough to prove falsity, plus based on disclosed facts.

But doesnt libel require a clearly/explicitly untrue statement not subjective labels? Not a true scotsman often appears in political writing

It is a contradiction because there was no basis legally. Moreover, Rubin is a part of the Far-Right so the article was 100% accurate.

@RubinReport actually hold those views? - 4 more replies
