How is 'diversity' a value? Surely it is just a statistical reality. Not being smug. Genuine question.
Some folks aspire to live among many kinds of people; some folks don't. And many companies and campuses promote diversity as a value.

Empirically, liking cultural diversity correlates with the Openness personality trait, which is 60% heritable. I don't know why it varies
