If we intervene in Syria, who should end up running the country?

How does one get to be so wise as to know better how to organize & govern a foreign culture than that culture decides for itself?
That's exactly my point. We have no business intervening in another country's internal affairs, at least without a UN resolution.

Assuming the UN was impotent (which it is) how much death and destruction must a tyrant cause before you'd intervene?

They'd have to cause enough mayhem that, if it was happening in the US, Americans would be happy with another country dropping bombs on DC.
