I haven't read White Fragility. Social psych shows people are generally defensive about threats to group self-esteem, so all groups are fragile. One could empirically test the claim that U.S. Whites are more fragile than average, but I don't know if anyone has.

That's true. However, sometimes it IS fragility, so the interesting questions is whether there's a unique White fragility. There could be, but we'd need some comparative data.

Yes, by all means, we need more comparative data... but who would fund a serious, large-scale study that compares the relative 'fragility' of different groups, using objective, unbiased metrics? Note that Robin DiAngelo seems not to have gathered or reviewed any such data.

Our group has been "standing up" on the necks of everyone else for centuries. If you can't take a little push back, you're fragile.

'Fragility' is just sklavenmoral transvaluation of herrenmoral 'Offense'. It is proper to be offended when someone insults you or your group.

Right. Fragile means easy to break. That which crumbles, folds, submits easily. Does a person rejecting racial bullying, refusing to be guilt tripped, and defending themselves sound similar to this?

Isn’t one of the premises of “white fragility” that in-fact it is?
