I’ve been hearing this conservative think tank talking point a lot. They want to paint the protests as a corporate creation.

That's because it is. Or rather, the creation of the global financial elite who own the corporations. That elite could care less about capitalism vs socialism. They want power and control. This year of crisis is giving it to them in unprecedented ways.
