We're all failing to fund regenerative medicine. We don't care that 100,000 people a day die from potentially avoidable senescence. We're all caught in a 'death is good & natural' trance. How will our future descendants view our priorities? https://twitter.com/rivatez/status/1276518248243175426 …

Why wouldn't they? Death has been the only absolute for our entire evolutionary history. You're acting like claiming to make everyone immortal should somehow be an obvious, self evident and attainable goal.

I always wondered how they get to learn that and accept it.

Death is natural , it seems to be a constant for basically every living thing on the planet, unless your removing humans & elevating them to above all other biological life on the planet giving us special status.

Honest inquiry... I can't find the conversation that is needed... To borrow quote from
@EricWeinstein, "We have the power of gods, but for the wisdom." In a world where the filters of time and senescence evaporate, how will we protect our ability to adapt as a species/polity?Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Death is neither good, nor natural. It is, however, inevitable. Death is the wages of sin. All men sin. All men die. So, seeking earthly immortality is a fools errand. There is merit in seeking medicine that maximizes life and health within that bound, but it is limited.

OTOH, the same God that has determined your earthly death has given you eternal life. Your immortality is guaranteed. The only question is how you will spend it. You should spend at least as much time securing the fate of your soul as the length of your telomeres.
