This is a rare opportunity to decimate police morale and recruitment for a whole generation, and that's what's happening. 'Police reform' was never the protesters' real goal, and we all know it.

I don’t see how you, or anyone, can refer to “the protestors” with a straight face. I’m a protestor. There have been millions. Many, many Black leaders I follow are calling specifically for police reform. Probably many are calling for something else.

We need to do simultaneously do two things: 1) Honor the police who do a difficult job well. Pay them better and do whatever it takes to recruit quality individuals. 2) Root out the sociopaths and incompetents while mproving training and rebuilding forces with bad cultures.

Yes, and also 3) Root out the systemic anti-police propaganda that makes it harder to do safe, effective police work that keeps the peace in our neighborhoods
