I’m very open to the argument that Christianity is the best available totalizing narrative and that its putative replacements have been a string of pseudo-secular religions with deleterious consequences.

Except that they're really old immune systems, and don't actually defend people from modern virulent memes selected from a much more massive and connected population. Look at all the Christians who went for Trump. How many of the remaining went SJW?

My millennial evangelical acquaintances seem to have gotten “woker” (they are mostly Asian though). I wonder if the “official” evangelical position on homosexuality will also change in the future, as a result of this Great Awokening...
