Should we also stop using correlation coefficients, cognitive tests, fingerprint analysis, & weather maps, since Galton invented them? Should we stop using principal component analysis, chi-squared tests, & the Phi coefficient, since Pearson invented them? Just curious.

Literally no one is suggesting that people stop using the building.

Many are demanding that @ucl should disavow Galton & Pearson. Why stop at renaming buildings? Why not disavow all of their ideas as well?

Isn’t there a difference between naming buildings in honor of problematic men and using the methods they came up with to do better? Or do you know that and you’re just having a highly emotional response to big chances in our culture? No shame in it, but you preach nuance. Use it

By today's standard 99% of the people who have ever lived are problematic. I don't think we should name buildings for people whose primary claim to fame is evil, people like Nazis and Confederate generals. But if someone made a real contribution to science, it's different

Can you explain why you think we should do that?
