Hey Nate - great piece, but did you intend to say "swinger states tend to be white and relatively irreligious." ? I don't doubt that you've described the plurality of swingers, but perhaps you meant "swing states" ?
The research shows that swingers tend to be more religious & politically conservative than polyamorists, FWIW.
