Want to answer “Not at all” but if I were skeptical of the legitimacy of the election, I’m not sure my mind would be at ease with the reporting of vote tallies. They could be illegitimate.
Imagine a taxpayer-funded university has an election among faculty for an oversight committee that's supposed to protect free speech rights. The university announces the election winners, but refuses to say how many votes each candidate got. Do you trust the election results?
