Why do only some racial groups have 'communities', & others are never described as 'communities'?
You can only be a 'community' if you have been oppressed, as the solidarity implied by the word 'community' is seen as a necessary condition for overcoming the oppression.
It encourages them to collectivise, whilst we remain atomised. They are a pack. We are just individuals.

Not just racial groups. They also do the same with the term "Deaf" to refer to the subculture.
"Community" is a word you use to signal that you are not prejudiced against the people concerned.
It's always just seemed like a convenient word to describe obvious minority groups. Maybe there's something more to it, but is there any meaningful benefit to describing the majority of the population as a community in the same way?
Because those communities not describing themselves based on their color have learned from history, that it might not be a very good idea?
If a people describe themselves as, say, Bhutanese or Jewish instead of a color, would you consider it a good idea?
