I have to confess that I was very wrong about academia. It's much worse than I imagined.

Academia & legacy media are by far the best institutions we've got. Do they have problems? Sure. But IMO "burn it all down" and/or "it's irremediably broken" is a very dangerous response. You think OAN is better than the NYT? Liberty U is better than Harvard? Come now.

I think they are necessarily countervailing forces, and I hope to see more. I really don't want to burn it all down, especially not STEM. But the social sciences? Doomed. Those of us who care about truth more than social justice will need to start diff institutions.

In South Africa we talk about the boiling frogs. It has taken decades to get to the point we have got to now. I feel like the version of critical race theory we have fought off for decades here, is what is acting as poison in the West, now. Intersectionality was here first.

It won't be fixed until the administration is fixed in each institution. They wield too much power. I've received memos on race from my kids school & from prof associations in the past few weeks with reading lists. Not sure you can keep an institution while purging the admin.
