Is there any good literature on the efficacy of polyamory? I'm so stuck in my bubble on this that it is hard to see it as anything but heathenry. Not trying to be inflammatory. I'm an open minded person but polyamory feels like an excuse to have your cake and eat it too.
Within 10 years, will the Supreme Court decide that 'polyamorous vs. monogamous' is a legally protected dimension of 'sexual orientation' under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act?

To answer this, I’d have to make a guess about how well polyamorous people protect and rear children, which I’m not willing to do. Nowhere near enough data exists. My instinct says they dont do this well. But maybe I’ll be proven wrong over time.

Yep. The legal complications are daunting. That's why I've supported poly relationship but not necessarily 'plural marriage' at the legal/contractual level.

Agreed. Once you allow full freedom to form sexual agreements, there's no constitutionally principled way to impose monogamous mating norms on everyone. This will, IMHO, be the center of the next culture war.
