I think the most disheartening thing of all is that 40% of officers experience mental health burnout from dealing with domestic violence cases google "40% policy domestic violence" for more

Sadly, because of the Duluth model, many male abuse victims, including black men, are arrested even if they are injured, bleeding, and the ones who called the police.

But, the police are, themselves, most likely to be the ones committing the domestic violence.

Defunding the police doesn't stop them from showing up to a routine 911 call It takes away their military grade weapons and forces them to enforce the law in way that actually serves and protects the community rather than oppresses it
-
Defunding police means police don't get paid, so they take other jobs, and there are no police to respond to 911 calls. What part of this confuses you?

What % of the NYPD's 5.6b budget goes towards domestic violence calls? Would be surprised if it's a big part of it.

This whole thing is terrifying. I’m a nurse work in an ED. To hear these doctors, nurses, social workers, all “educated people” not think one layer of depth into any of these issues. It is insane.
