There's something really powerful about showing footage of people taking selfies. It (literally?) reframes the whole situation and shows the performative and attention-seeking aspect.
It's interesting how rarely mainstream news media runs photos of protesters taking selfies at protests.

It would be one of those types of photos that immediately makes a point. If that's not the point your text makes, the photo's the wrong illustration.

How often is this happening and what is the overwhelming content of their selfies? I am removed from the selfie platforms. Is it to show history in good faith or more attention seeking? This is bearing in mind the two are not mutually exclusive.
