Pro (but obvious) tip: if you rent an airbnb or hotel room with a ticking clock, and you don't like it, just take the battery out. Then before you leave, put it back in and reset the time.

If trying to sleep, very. I would take the clock off the wall and put it in the drawer when sleeping on the sofa at my parents' house. Now, I always have a fan going for white noise, wherever possible...
