Economics is a quantitative major, not a Great Books course. You do not typically read any Keynes
Any student who's intellectually curious would read the most famous & foundational book in their field, whether or not it was 'required reading'.
AOC was born in 1989. I don't think they use Adam Smith as a textbook anymore. I certainly haven't read any mathematics written before the 20th century, and I don't see why I would unless I was a historian of the discipline.
I doubt it. Most of what I've read from her suggests that she skipped straight to MMT without any foundation from which to evaluate its problems and merits.
Have you read any MMT economist's or literature? Provide one argument against it with empirical evidence.
I mostly recall undergrad econ as just taking first derivatives over and over again in different contexts lol. Most undergrad econ programs don't have a whole lot of assigned readings from books that aren't textbooks. I read Smith, Keynes, and others on my own, but not for class.
I think she focused on Milton Keynes.
