I think it's a mixture of both. Google still chose the article to share for that search query. They could have shared a Wikipedia entry that doesn't say 5. Like you said though, wiki still has that gender theory stuff on there in the first place.

This highlights the other problem. Google used to serve the same results to everyone, and now we all see personalized results based on algorithms. Everyone is living in an algorithmic filter bubble.

I get similar results (from Serbia). However, that top article is also ideological. "But why has biology taken all this time to finally recognize that the existence of multiple sexes is normal?" The article claims it's "patriarchal ideology". 100% fantasy Google answers.
