They're also dropping high-school grades and extra-curricular activities from consideration for admission. From here on out, UofC will only take account of students' "Hot or Not" evaluations and the amount of money their parents contribute to the school.
This is very bad news for the future of meritocracy & ideological diversity in California.
And for the credential value of every U.C. degree in the future.
