Our Search for Happiness by M. Russel Ballard is a good place to start, if you don’t want to dive into the whole Book of Mormon haha. It’s only a few chapters and each highlights some of the core doctrines and practices. Really easy read too

It's been far too long since I've read Our Search for Happiness, but I don't think it goes into Exaltation and becoming as God. I'm open to being proven wrong.
