Remember kids, if you think some new law is unconstitutional, & you ever sit on a jury to decide whether someone's guilty of violating that law, you should google 'jury nullification'.... (one of our last lines of defense against unjust laws)

I’ve served on jury duty twice. Neither time did I try to get out of it. Everyone should serve on a jury and be an active participant in due process. It’s very intellectually expanding.

I agree in theory, but not in practice. I'm self-employed; taking weeks off work would cost me clients and spell financial ruin. Unfortunately, judges are not particularly receptive to this sort of argument. And why should they be? They literally make the law. EDIT: Grammar.

They can also jail you for doing so, claiming you were attempting to use it to avoid jury duty.
