They will destroy towns, divide communities, knock down churches, make businesses inaccessible, and wreck the environment so big city folks can get to other big city folks on taxpayers dime to save 15 minutes at a cost of Trillions.https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status/1257550848575574023 …

Sounds like you might have said the same in the 1950s about this newfangled 'Interstate Highway System' that Eisenhower was proposing? How is high-speed rail different, apart from being much faster, & us having an existence proof from China that it really works?

Sounds like you never had the government threaten to put train tracks through your house.

It's one in a million and the governments pay them. Besides these trains can replace old rail lines. You don't seem like a true libertarian. More like an old conservative mafia power grab.

I heard on Fox that the progressives planning this thing mapped it to go right through every church along each route. So it is super squiggly and will only go 30 mph, but will wipe out all churches since the corona hoax didn't.

because most of the IHS was done outside major urban centers, and the stuff in urban centers couldn't be done today due to eminent domain protests and so forth. also, hi speed rail is quite clearly a money losing resource pit to anyone who runs the # s.

High speed rail is much more finicky than highways (Japan spends a fortune on their routine maintenance (which is presumably why they are so expensive)). And rail isn’t particularly energy efficient for passengers (freight is denser). Primary advantage is electric ==> renewable.

You kind of lost me at "existence proof from China".
