100 years from now people will read this tweet and ask, what is a book shelf?
-
A 'bookshelf' is a Kindle that still works even if the grid goes down.

I am old enough to remember when the purpose of a bookshelf was to store your books, a degree was to show what you knew and opinions were for down the pub. Now you bookshelf shows your opinion and your degree might get you a job collecting glasses in the pub, if there was a pub.

In social science about half of what I read is stuff I disagree with it. This is what I don't get. How do people even find only books they will agree with? How do they know for sure if a book is good or not?

I got a whole stack of noontide press that I got from some old crank that I just kept for it's crazy fringe value. I'd be doxxed in a heartbeat of I ever posted a picture on twitter of it.
